Three BEYOND researchers followed the EARLINET General Assembly and the FP7-ACTRIS workshop that was held in Limassol, Cyprus between 25 and 29 of November 2103. The researchers presented the BEYOND objectives and the related atmospheric activities within the project.
Focus was given in LIVAS service that has been recently published through BEYOND website. The procedures that were followed to produce the LIVAS climatology have been analytically presented along with the research conducted in order to define a consolidated aerosol model for space applications. The vision of BEYOND to develop a sophisticated ground-based lidar that will operate in Crete has been disseminated. The EARLINET lidar network welcomed this activity and suggested through its coordinator (Gelsomina Pappalardo) that the new lidar has the specifications to join the network. Gelsomina suggested that the BEYOND lidar should pass the quality assurance protocols of the network and that EARLINET will be glad to provide the resources and the knowhow needed for the QA procedures.
